A neighbourhood wash studio that happens to love paint
We opened in 2013 with two buckets, one bay and a hand-painted sign. The sign is long gone. The buckets stayed.
Built for cars people actually care about
CleanCar started when two brothers got tired of watching tunnel washes grind grit into the paint of cars they had spent weekends polishing. We rented a single bay on Bethnal Green Road, bought two buckets with grit guards and put a sign on the pavement.
Twelve years later we run four bays, reclaim most of our water on site and still hand-wash every vehicle that comes through. Most of our team has been here more than three years, which is unusual in this trade.
What has not changed is the simple part: we quote the price before we start, we tell you what we find, and we do not sell you work your car does not need.
Three rules we do not bend
They are written on the wall by the key rack, mostly so we can point at them when a job runs long.
Care over speed
We would rather take twenty-five careful minutes than five careless ones. Clean towels, fresh buckets, no shortcuts.
Prices without surprises
The number we quote at drop-off is the number on the receipt. If we find something extra, you hear about it first.
Water we give back
Our bays run on reclaimed water with a filtration loop, and our soaps are biodegradable. A clean car should not cost the creek.
